Patricio Tapia has written for almost three decades about the wines of Chile and South America. The annual Descorchados guide is an essential resource to remain informed about the latest developments.

About the Author

Patricio Tapia (1968) studied journalism (Santiago) and later oenology (Bordeaux). Besides a new edition for Descorchades each year (2025 is number 27), Tapia writes regularly for Chilean and international publications and has published several books (including a novel). In addition, he has contributed to both Jancis Robinson’s The Oxford Companion to Wine and the World Atlas of Wine (Chile) and in the past hosted a series of programs for El Gourmet as wine consultant (2004-2009).
